what is Natural Language Processing

 Welcome dear readers,

In this post, I am gonna help you understand what NLP i.e. natural language processing is.

                The study of NLP has been around for more than 50 years and grew out of the field of linguistics with the rise of computers. Basically, NLP is a branch of artificial intelligence that aims to establish a natural communication between machine to machine or machine to human.

 Natural communication? 

It is the way humans communicate with each other by analysing the data i.e knowledge they have and its ways can be speech or text. This aim of NLP to establish such communication of machines with humans or machines is very ambitious. And its implementation is not an easy task. 




 in the above blog diagram, you can see various stages of NLP 

I/P - Input can be in the form of text or speech. 

Stage I - in this stage input is recognised. 

Stage II - here the system tries to understand what the user is saying, his intent, meaning. various challenges are involved in this stage.

Stage III - this stage includes content planning to give a response to the user. 

O/P- output is provided.
